What is the Shift Network and is it legit?

Plus, how it compares to True North

What is the Shift Network?

The Shift Network offers courses and resources aimed at personal growth and spiritual development. They provide a wide range of online courses, workshops, and summits that cover various topics such as personal development, spiritual growth, health and wellness, and mindfulness. The Shift Network's mission is to empower individuals to create positive change in their lives and the world through personal transformation.

The organization was founded by Stephen Dinan, a spiritual teacher, and author, in 2009. The Shift Network has a global community of students and teachers, who come together to learn and share ideas, and support each other on their spiritual journeys. They have a variety of spiritual leaders, healers, shamans, and coaches, who give classes and workshops, such as Michael Beckwith and his life visioning program. They also offer certification programs for facilitator hopefuls.

Is it legit?

Yes, it is a legit company, even if it looks like it’s being run by a stack of tea-light candles and patchouli spray in a trench coat. They raised a series A in 2021 and their mission is to transform 100 million lives to transition our world into a permanent state of peace. A lofty goal, indeed.

Example courses

To be totally honest it seems like the courses are a bit random. Categories include a lot of eastern medicine-type topics mixed with some woowoo self-discovery and spiritual empowerment, and on top of it all, they have a section for the wisdom of cosmic abundance gathering, aka the Business & Money section.

“The client attraction code” is a 7-module series about nailing an effective elevator pitch. “The Art of Dream Divination and Synchronicity” is apparently about “accessing the wisdom of your dream self” which sounds totally funky if we were eating funky brownies.

How is it different from True North?

To be honest, if spirituality and exploring the powers of your mind is what you need right now, then take this more abstract intellectual approach with The Shift Network. In the True North program, you’re met where you are in your life right now. I can’t promise you astral projection, but Visioning can definitely help you discover more about your past, present and future self than any other program out there.

I learned about a presentation given by a renowned energy healer that was sponsored by Shift through an ad that turned up in a search engine query. The ad featured a chance to enroll in a "free" group session with this healer. I clicked on the link and signed up with my email address for one of the many hour long time slots, and scheduled my morning around it. No other instruction was given. It looked legit, but apparently I did not read the fine print. The "unique" link I was given brought me to a recorded webinar. When I tried to go back and log into Shift with the given email address, it did not register. When I tried to contact support, there was no live chat, just a robo-response stating that my help request would be processsed in a couple of business days - which negates the point. The webinar was informative, but mostly review to me as the healer was relaying information from her book that I've read. I was expecting the group healing session as advertised. I felt a little deceived and probably will not subscribe to Shift after this experience.I have taken about twelve courses from Shift Network, over the years (at the rate of about one class per year). I highly recommend Shift. There are a number of courses, that I would not have been able to take without this wonderful platform. I have videos to rewatch and transcripts to read. I will absolutely continue signing up for courses going forward.
